Lauren Horowitz
MSN, APRN, IBCLC
Lauren is thrilled to join the Milk Street Team! Most recently, Lauren practiced as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) where she fell in love with the beauty behind lactation and the drive to obtain her IBCLC.
Lauren brings the values of educating, supporting, understanding and validating new parents as they learn to feed their babies and navigate through the newborn phase. As a PNP and an IBCLC, Lauren can speak to appropriate growth, developmental milestones, implement strategies for effective feeding and recognize if there are any areas for improvement. She became an IBCLC after experiencing the first hand benefits that breast milk can provide to infants as well as triumphing through her own breastfeeding journey with her two children.
Educating and helping others is one of Lauren’s truest passions. She develops trusting relationships with her patients and their families in order to provide the most personalized care. She has guided new parents through some of their most vulnerable moments and as always, plans to bring safety, trust and professionalism to the Milk Street parents. She also incorporates her love of teaching as she is a Pediatric Clinical Instructor both for NYU Nursing students as well as Fairfield University students.
Lauren got her first Bachelor’s Degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as her second Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from New York University. Prior to being a PNP, she practiced as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric ICU for 7 years at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Certifications: IBCLC, APRN, PNP-PC, CPN, PALS, CPR
Lauren lives locally with her husband, two young children and Goldendoodle.
